Born in Brussels, renowned director and producer Alain Berliner is the founder and manager of WFE (Writing For Entertainment) Production, a prominent Belgian production company based in Wallonia and Brussels, specializing in the production of feature films in collaboration with countries such as France, Luxembourg, England, Italy, and others.
The company made a remarkable debut in 1997 with Alain Berliner's international hit "My Life in Pink". The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and went on to receive numerous prestigious awards and nominations, including the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Film, Best Screenplay at the European Film Awards, BAFTA and French Cesar nominations for Best First Film.
Since then, Alain has written or co-written and directed many films, including "Passion of Mind" (starring Demi Moore and produced by Lakeshore and Paramount),"The House by the Canal", the hit TV show "Clara Sheller" (F2),"La Peau de Chagrin", "A Son", starring Michele Laroque who won Best Actress at the La Rochelle Film Festival in 2014 and a huge hit when televised, and "Stolen Babies", (France TV).
Throughout his career, Alain Berliner has demonstrated his ability to create dramatic comedies that tackle complex subjects in a unique and engaging way, while still reaching a wide audience emotionally. He is one of the few directors capable of approaching this style of smart entertainment.
In addition to his work in film, Alain Berliner teaches Screenplay and Directing at the INSAS film school in Brussels. As a script doctor, he has participated in several screenwriting workshops, including Equinoxe (France) and Atelier Grand Nord (Canada).
