Cat Ballou's family farm is under threat from the railroad's expansion. In desperation, she hires Kid Shelleen, a notoriously drunk and skilled gunfighter, to protect her land. After her father is brutally killed by the railroad's hired gunman, Cat is driven to take up the fight herself.
