Noble 'Kid' Chissell

Noble LaPorte Chisman, later known as KidChissel, was born to Thomas F and Cora Esther (LaPorte) Chisman in Indianapolis, a city steeped in rich history and cultural heritage. The event marked the beginning of a life that would be shaped by the influences of his family and the city that raised him. However, Noble's life took a dramatic turn in the mid-1930s when he left his Indiana home, just after his parents had divorced, in pursuit of a career in the glamorous world of Hollywood. Prior to his departure, he had already gained valuable experience as a locomotive fireman in Indianapolis, a profession that had been in his family for some time. In fact, his father, Thomas, worked in the railroad yards of Indianapolis, and at the time of Noble's birth, the family resided at 3018 East New York Street, a address that held sentimental value for the young Noble.
