Two waitresses, Nisi and Mickey, take a chance to audition for a music video in California, hoping to raise funds for their dream restaurant. Nisi lands a role as the granddaughter of Lily, a former housekeeper and lost love of Mr. Blakemore, the video's director. As they spend a week with him, they rekindle his passion for life and learn to embody the elegance of "Black American Princesses" from him.
