The comedy film is based on a popular radio show and follows the story of Irma, a charming but scatterbrained woman who interferes in her roommate's romantic relationships. Meanwhile, two juice-bar operators, played by Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis, are discovered by a self-proclaimed manager who recognizes Martin's exceptional singing talent. As the story unfolds, Irma's roommate falls in love with Martin, abandoning her plans to marry her wealthy boss.
