Gold Diggers of 1933

Three chorus girls, Polly, Carol, and Trixie, are thrilled to learn that a Broadway producer is casting them in a new show. The producer, Barney Hopkins, hires an unknown composer, Brad Roberts, to write the music, but faces financial difficulties. Brad, who is actually wealthy, insists on not performing. When the juvenile lead can't go on, Brad takes the stage, but his upper-crust family disapproves of his relationship with Polly and demands he choose between her and his income. The girls then play a prank on Brad's snobbish brother, mistaking Carol for Polly.
