Biography

Noted actor Guy Kibbee embarked on a distinguished show business career at the tender age of 13, initially entertaining audiences on the iconic Mississippi riverboats. As he matured, Kibbee transitioned to the legitimate stage, dedicating many years to the world of theater. It was during the 1930s that he caught the attention of Warner Brothers, subsequently becoming an integral part of the esteemed "Warner Brothers Stock Company". This illustrious group of seasoned character actors and actresses brought to life numerous memorable roles in Warner Bros. musicals and gangster films.

Throughout his career, Kibbee demonstrated a remarkable talent for portraying jovial, yet not particularly astute, businessmen and government officials. His most iconic performance remains that of the stiff, by-the-book lawyer with a hidden vulnerability for showgirls in the 1933 classic, Gold Diggers of 1933.
