A Russian satellite is veering off course, threatening to fall to Earth. NASA leader Bob Gerson discovers it was designed by Frank Corvin, a retired Air Force pilot who was originally part of a team meant to go to space, but was replaced by NASA. Frank agrees to help fix the satellite, but only if he and his team can go to space to do it.
