Chris, a native of New Jersey, was born to a family with a strong spiritual background, his father being a preacher man and his mother a preacher mama. His childhood was marked by a move to New York City, where he resided at the prestigious St. Thomas Choir School in the 1980s. During his time there, he had the unique opportunity to sing alongside Carly Simon on the track "Let the River Run," which was featured in the iconic film Working Girl (1988),directed by Mike Nichols.
As a teenager, Chris attended Northern Highlands Regional High School in Allendale, New Jersey, where he was selected for the esteemed NJ Governor's School of the Arts program for his acting talents. He went on to graduate from the American University in Washington, D.C., with a bachelor's degree in Theater-Performance.
The 1990s saw Chris hosting his own late-night talk show, which originated on campus television at the American University and eventually made its way to Comedy Central. His big-screen debut came in the form of Clint Eastwood's Space Cowboys (2000),where he shared the screen with notable actors Tommy Lee Jones and Jon Hamm, who were also making their film debuts.
Since his arrival in Hollywood in the summer of 1998, Chris has appeared in thousands of television episodes, dozens of films, and hundreds of commercials. He is also the host of the longest-running Clippers podcast, ClipCast, which he launched in 2012.
In his personal life, Chris tied the knot with Shilpa Shah on October 10, 2009, and the couple welcomed a happy, healthy, and handsome son a year later.
