In a fairy tale twist, Jack must complete a heroic deed by Monday or risk failing, just like his father. To succeed, Jack sells his Computer of Wonder for magic beans and a mysterious book, which records his adventures as he lives them. He and his transformed goose sidekick climb a magic beanstalk to retrieve the Harp of Destiny from an evil Giant, aided by a fearless young girl, Jillian, who may have secrets of her own.
