An army scout, having retired to a New Mexico ranch, takes in a white woman and her mixed-race son, who were recently rescued from Apache captivity. Despite knowing the boy's father is a notorious and violent Apache warrior, the scout invites them to stay, setting the stage for a confrontation that's only a matter of time.
