Richard Farnsworth, a renowned American stuntman and character actor, was a native of Los Angeles. His early life revolved around horses, and as a teenager, he was offered an opportunity to ride in films. He began his career by appearing in horse-racing scenes and cavalry charges, initially unbilled as a general rider and later as a stuntman. His exceptional riding and stunting skills earned him a steady stream of work doubling stars such as Roy Rogers, Gary Cooper, and even the occasional bad guy. Although he occasionally received lines of dialogue, it wasn't until he was over 50 that his innate talent for acting and his natural charisma before the camera became apparent.
