Theodore Olsen, a renowned author, was born in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. He completed his secondary education at Rhinelander High School in 1950 and went on to graduate from Stevens Point State College, now known as the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point, in 1955.
Initially, Olsen had aspirations to become a comic strip artist, but his passion soon shifted towards writing. After numerous rewrites, he successfully sold his first book, Valley of the Hunted, to Ace Books in 1955. The novel was published in 1956 under the title Haven of the Hunted.
Olsen's literary career spanned various genres, including westerns, adventure, gothic, romance, and historical fiction. He also wrote under pseudonyms such as Christopher Storm, Cass Willoughby, and Joshua Stark.
Two of his notable novels were adapted into films. The Stalking Moon, published in 1968, was adapted into a movie of the same name in 1968. Additionally, his novel Arrow in the Sun was adapted into the film Soldier Blue in 1970.
Theodore Olsen passed away on July 13, 1993, at the age of 61, due to a stroke at his home in Rhinelander, Wisconsin.
