Two homeless teenagers, Kelley and Jonas, eke out a living on the streets of Venice, California, by using drugs, drinking, and shoplifting. When they overhear a wealthy couple's conversation, they see an opportunity to rob their house. Kelley, who's desperate for family love, becomes torn between her desire for a new life and her guilt over the heist. As they try to escape, Kelley meets the couple's son, Michael, and they start dating. But Kelley's past soon catches up with her, threatening to destroy her new relationship.
