Christy Carlson Romano is a talented American actress, best known for her roles in two popular Chuck Lorre comedies: "Dharma & Greg" and "Mom". She received a Critics Choice Award nomination for her portrayal of Marjorie in "Mom" and became a series regular in the show's second season.
Born in Rochester, New York, Kennedy started her acting career on stage, performing in Neil Simon's "Last Of The Red Hot Lovers" alongside Sid Caesar and Doris Roberts, who became a mentor and close friend. She then appeared in the musical-variety mini-series "3 Girls 3", starring alongside Debbie Allen, Ellen Foley, Bob Hope, Carl Reiner, Tony Curtis, Flip Wilson, and Steve Martin in his prime-time TV debut.
Kennedy went on to secure regular roles in TV series such as "Just Friends" and "The Two of Us", and earned a nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama for her role as Queen-B Ruth Sloan in "Homefront". She has also recurred as CIA Director and House Minority Leader in HBO's "The Brink" and "Veep", respectively.
In addition to her television work, Kennedy has appeared in several notable films, including "In the Loop", "Midnight in Paris", "Pump Up the Volume", "Erin Brockovich", "Man in the Chair", and "The Five-Year Engagement". Her 2021 releases include the comedy "Eat Wheaties!" and the feel-good film "Saving Paradise".
Kennedy has also written a memoir, "Taken To The Stage", which addresses the moral and psychological challenges of an acting career. She is currently updating the book for paperback and Audible release.
