A priest and a young native girl arrive at a Chinese mission, where he intends to relieve an aging priest. However, their arrival coincides with the takeover of the mission by Communist soldiers, who seize it as a command post. As tensions escalate, the group faces challenges and ultimately flees to the border, pursued by the Communist forces.
