Robert Ya Fu Lee, a Chinese-born character actor, embarked on an international journey to the United Kingdom as an international student at Trinity College, Cambridge. Initially, he entered the world of acting at the behest of his friends, and before long, he became a stalwart presence on British television and film sets. His impressive repertoire of roles includes appearances in notable productions such as the 1967 James Bond film You Only Live Twice and the 1986 drama Half Moon Street. Moreover, his television appearances are equally impressive, featuring notable shows like The Avengers, The Chinese Detective, and The Bill. However, his most iconic role remains that of Taro Nagazumi, a Japanese business executive and English language student, in the ITV sitcom Mind Your Language, which he portrayed from 1977 to 1979.
