Nim's Island

A young girl named Nim joins her scientist father on an island to study marine life, where she befriends animals and reads about adventures. When her father doesn't return after a storm, Nim emails Alex Rover, a fictional character, for help. Unbeknownst to Nim, Alex Rover is a real person struggling with agoraphobia and germaphobia, but her creation comes to life, urging her to take action.
