A group of amateur thieves attempt a straightforward bank heist, but their plan quickly unravels as a series of unexpected twists and turns ensues, transforming their simple crime into a thrilling and unpredictable escapade.

A Vietnam veteran, Sonny, and his two cohorts, Stevie and Sal, attempt to rob a Brooklyn bank on a hot summer afternoon in 1972. The plan goes awry when Stevie flees and the bank's cash has already been picked up for the day, leaving Sonny with few options.
