Two UC Berkeley students, Jennifer and Ryan, who have been friends since childhood, unexpectedly spend a night together. Jennifer, quick-witted and independent, is hesitant to pursue a romantic relationship and instead wants to maintain their friendship. Ryan, who is more serious and literal, is hurt by her response and withdraws from her. As Jennifer prepares to leave for Italy after graduation, the two must navigate their feelings and figure out if they can reconcile their differences before she departs.
