Summer 1969, a pivotal moment in history, as men walk on the moon and Woodstock music festival takes place near the Kantrowitz family's summer cabin. The family's Jewish community is a tight-knit and vibrant environment. Marty, a responsible and decent man, spends weekends in Brooklyn repairing TVs, while his wife Pearl and mother-in-law camp with their children, Alison and her younger brother. Pearl, who became pregnant at 17, longs for her lost youth. As Alison navigates her first experiences, including her first date, kiss, and period, Pearl finds herself drawn to "the blouse man," a camp vendor, and they both attend Woodstock.
