Biography

Tony Goldwyn just concluded a sold-out run of director Ivo Van Hove's Broadway production of "Network" alongside Bryan Cranston and Tatiana Maslany. He is also seen in the Netflix series "Chambers" starring with Uma Thurman. Goldwyn recently finished his role as President Fitzgerald Grant in Shonda Rhimes' series "Scandal" after a seven-season run.

Goldwyn continues to balance multiple projects, both behind and in front of the camera. He appeared in the feature film "Mark Felt - The Man Who Brought Down the White House" alongside Liam Neeson and Diane Lane. He also starred in the indie rom-com "All I Wish" with Sharon Stone and the horror film "The Belko Experiment" written and produced by James Gunn.

As a director, Goldwyn made his feature directorial debut with "A Walk on the Moon" starring Diane Lane and Viggo Mortensen, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and received widespread critical acclaim. He has also directed episodes of "Scandal," "Chambers," "Dexter," "Justified," "Law & Order," "Damages," "Grey's Anatomy," and "The L Word."

Goldwyn's additional feature directing credits include "The Last Kiss" and "Someone Like You." His last effort, "Conviction," starring Hilary Swank and Sam Rockwell, earned Swank a SAG Award nomination and won Best Film at the Boston Film Festival.

As an actor, Goldwyn first gained recognition for his portrayal of the villain in the box office hit "Ghost." He has since appeared in numerous films, including "The Pelican Brief," "Kiss The Girls," "Nixon," "The Last Samurai," and the remake of "The Last House on the Left." He is also familiar to children as the title voice in Disney's animated feature "Tarzan."

Goldwyn's television acting credits include "The Good Wife," "Dexter," "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," "Without A Trace," "The L Word," and "From The Earth To The Moon." He has also appeared on stage, spending seven seasons at the Williamstown Theater Festival and performing in various Broadway productions, including the hit revival of "Promises, Promises."

In addition to his acting and directing career, Goldwyn dedicates much of his personal time to philanthropic work. He serves as an Ambassador for Stand Up To Cancer and a board member for the humanitarian relief organization Americares.
