Years later, the Musketeers return from war to find a starving Paris, while the king and his entourage indulge at a noble's estate. The king becomes infatuated with the noble's daughter, who secretly loves Athos. Meanwhile, the queen mother reveals that the king has a long-lost twin, the true heir, who is being hidden and prepared for his destiny.
