Marine Sergeant Bob Lansing, a dedicated and patriotic military man, is headed to the Officer's Academy in Annapolis after completing his Pacific tour. He's joined by his younger brother Jimmy, also a sergeant, who's vying for the same spot. As they prepare for the entrance exam, they're encouraged to engage in a friendly rivalry, which extends to competing for the affections of Penelope Hayworth, the admiral's daughter. With their futures and relationships hanging in the balance, Bob and Jimmy must decide what's most important: becoming an officer, winning Penelope's heart, or upholding their brotherly bond.
