Biography

Stanley Morner, better known by his stage name Dennis Morgan, was born in the quaint town of Prentice, Wisconsin. Initially, his Hollywood endeavors consisted of mostly minor roles, but his career trajectory significantly altered after he shared the screen with the renowned actress Ginger Rogers in the 1940 film "Kitty Foyle". Subsequently, he appeared in a string of notable films, including "My Wild Irish Rose" (1947),"God Is My Co-Pilot" (1945),and "The Very Thought of You" (1944).

Morgan's on-screen partnership with his close friend Jack Carson yielded several memorable collaborations, such as "Two Guys from Milwaukee" (1946),"Two Guys from Texas" (1948),and "It's a Great Feeling" (1949). His captivating portrayal of seaman "Jefferson Jones" in the 1945 holiday classic "Christmas in Connecticut", alongside Barbara Stanwyck and a talented supporting cast, has cemented its status as a beloved festive favorite.

After retiring from the film industry in the late 1950s, Morgan made sporadic cameo appearances. His 61-year marriage to his wife was a testament to their enduring love, and he passed away in 1994. The couple had three children, Stanley Jr., Kristin Morgan, and James.
