A research ship sets sail to explore an island rumored to be oil-rich, but paleontologist Jack Prescott sneaks on board to investigate eerie whispers about the island. Along the way, the crew rescues Dwan, the sole survivor of a shipwreck. Upon arrival, they discover native inhabitants living in terror of a monstrous creature, Kong.
