In the Arizona Territory of the 1870s, a notorious outlaw known as the Sidewinder, leader of a band of Ute Indians, wreaks havoc on the local population. Tex McCloud, a rancher whose property is destroyed, sets out to track down and eliminate the Sidewinder, making a wager with Lt. Tom Blaine, leader of a Cavalry troop, that he will be the first to uncover the outlaw's true identity.
