Zoltán Latinovics, a Hungarian actor, was widely regarded as the king of the silver screen in the 20th century. Born in his grandfather's restaurant in Hungary at precisely 12:30 pm, he was the son of Katalin Gundel, the daughter of a renowned restaurant owner in Pest, and Oszkár Latinovics, a landowner from South-Hungary.
However, his father abandoned the family shortly after Zoltán's birth, leaving his mother to raise him and his siblings alone. When Zoltán was just 10 years old, his mother remarried a doctor, with whom she had two more sons, István Bujtor (also known as his stage name) and Károly Frenreisz.
Growing up, Zoltán developed a passion for the arts, including cinema, theatre, and painting. He was an avid reader and collector of books, and he even learned four languages fluently: English, French, German, and Italian. Before pursuing a career in acting, Zoltán first honed his skills as a joiner and later graduated as an architect.
Despite his many talents and accomplishments, Zoltán struggled with inner turmoil and a desire for truth, which ultimately led him to take his own life. His romance with actress Éva Ruttkai was a well-known and celebrated aspect of his life.
