Biography

Zoltan Korda, a former Hungarian cavalry officer, embarked on a cinematic journey, initially serving as a skilled cameraman before transitioning to the role of editor, ultimately ascending to the position of director under the auspices of London Films, a prestigious production company founded by his brother, the renowned filmmaker Alexander Korda.

Despite sharing a common Hungarian heritage, Zoltan and Alexander Korda harbored fundamentally disparate political ideologies, with Zoltan being a strong advocate for liberal and socialist principles, whereas Alexander, proudly born in Hungary as well, was a steadfast supporter of the British Empire, leading to frequent clashes between the two brothers.
