Biography of a renowned Japanese filmmaker:

Born and raised in Yokohama, this animator's journey began in 1968, upon graduating from Yokohama High School. Initially, he worked at Mushi Production Animation, where he honed his skills as an animator. However, when the company went bankrupt in 1972, he joined Madhouse Studio, marking the start of a new chapter in his career.

The 1970s were a pivotal period for this filmmaker, as he rose through the ranks to become an animation director. His big break came in 1984, when he co-directed "SF New Century Lensman" with Kazuyuki Hirokawa, a more experienced filmmaker. Not only did he make his directorial debut, but he also contributed to the character design alongside Kazuo Tomizawa.

The late 1980s saw him cement his status as a master filmmaker with the release of "Wicked City" in 1987. This solo directorial effort showcased his exceptional filmmaking abilities. The same year, he ventured into the Original Video Animation market, debuting with "The Phoenix". Furthermore, he began writing his own scripts, solidifying his position as a multi-talented filmmaker.

Throughout his illustrious career, this filmmaker has consistently pushed boundaries and showcased his versatility, leaving an indelible mark on the world of animation and filmmaking.
