Wong Kar-wai, a Hong Kong Second Wave filmmaker, was born on July 17, 1956. He is an internationally acclaimed auteur, renowned for his distinctive, visually stunning, and emotionally powerful films. His extensive filmography includes Ah fei zing zyun (1990),Dung che sai duk (1994),Chung Hing sam lam (1994),Do lok tin si (1995),Chun gwong cha sit (1997),2046 (2004),My Blueberry Nights (2007),and Yi dai zong shi (2013).
Wong's films often explore themes of romance and mortality, featuring protagonists who yearn for love amidst the fleeting nature of life. His scenes are often characterized as sketchy, digressive, exhilarating, and vividly imaginative.
