Biography

Noted theatre professional Whitey Shapiro cultivated a profound understanding of the craft through his association with the illustrious Lee Strasberg at the New York Actors Studio. This esteemed mentorship laid the groundwork for his subsequent collaborations with prominent playwrights David Mamet and actor/director William H. Macy in Vermont and Off-Broadway productions in New York.

Following the completion of his Master of Fine Arts in Directing, Whitey relocated to Seattle in 1983, where he joined the esteemed Trish Lopez Actors Group. His talents were showcased at the Seattle Rep, and he went on to secure roles in feature films such as "The Assassins" and "The Vanishing".

Whitey's illustrious career was marked by a notable transition in 2007, when he retired as Program Coordinator for the Office for Civil Rights, U.S. Department of Education.
