Biography

Wendy Padbury's journey in the world of entertainment began with her training at the esteemed Aida Foster Stage School, setting the stage for her eventual television debut on the BBC's arts program "Monitor" shortly after commencing her course of study.

As she continued to hone her craft, Padbury's television appearances became more frequent, and by the tender age of seventeen, she had secured a regular role in the ATV soap opera "Crossroads" in 1964.

It wasn't long before she set her sights on the iconic sci-fi series "Doctor Who" and applied for the coveted role of "Zoe." After undergoing several rounds of auditions and a screen test at Lime Grove Studios, Padbury was ultimately awarded the part.

Despite the production team's efforts to persuade her to remain with the show, Padbury decided to leave alongside her co-stars Patrick Troughton and Frazer Hines at the conclusion of season six.

Following her departure from "Doctor Who," Padbury transitioned to the world of theatre and later appeared in three seasons of the popular Southern TV children's series "Freewheelers" in the early 1970s.

Since the mid-1970s, Padbury has divided her time between raising a family and continuing her acting career, a testament to her enduring passion for the craft.
