Valerie Meachum's early life was marked by a nomadic existence, with her family relocating an astonishing fifteen times before she reached the age of twelve, her upbringing as an Air Force brat leaving an indelible mark on her formative years.
Currently residing in the Chicago suburbs, Meachum has developed a unique ability to thrive in a variety of artistic environments, effortlessly transitioning between new plays on intimate storefront stages, musicals and classical productions in the suburbs, and the dynamic independent film scene that has earned the nickname "Hollywood Midwest".
In addition to her work as a writer and performer, Meachum is also a highly accomplished costumer, often combining her skills to bring beloved heroines to life for children at hospitals and charity events, using her talents to make a positive impact on her community.
Furthermore, Meachum is actively working on producing an evening-length solo theatre piece centered around the fascinating life of Elizabeth Siddal, a Pre-Raphaelite model, artist, and poet whose story is ripe for exploration.
