Udita Goswami was born in Dehradun, India, to a father from Varanasi and a mother from Shillong. She spent her early years studying at Maa Anandmayi Memorial and D.A.V. Public schools until she completed the 8th standard.
Growing up, Udita had a strong desire to be involved in the entertainment industry, which led her to propose relocating to Bombay (now Mumbai) to pursue her dreams. Initially, her parents were hesitant, but eventually, they agreed to let her follow her passion.
Standing tall at above average height, Udita's voluptuous figure and striking features did not go unnoticed. Her pictures were soon discovered by MTV, and she went on to win MTV Model Mission 2.
As her modeling career took off, Udita started working with prominent brands such as Nokia, Star Movies, Pepsi, and Titan watches. She also collaborated with professional photographer Anand Seth on her first fashion feature photo-shoot.
In 2003, Bollywood actress and filmmaker Pooja Bhatt offered Udita a role in the film 'Paap', which, although it did not perform well at the box office, helped her gain recognition. This led to her being cast in 'Zeher', a movie that catapulted her to fame overnight.
Udita has since appeared in several films, including 'Aksar', 'Dil Diya Hai', and a music video titled 'Kya Khoob Lagti Ho' opposite Upen Patel. She has also been involved in social causes, such as the 'Sick Kids Foundation', and has presented awards at the '49th Filmfare Awards' in 2004.
Udita has been ranked among the 'Top 100 Beautiful Women' and has taken a discerning approach to selecting her projects. She is open to acting in commercial movies if she likes the role, and is currently working on a few projects.
