Biography

Trevor Trout's life story is a testament to resilience and determination. Born in Cocoa Beach, Florida, he was never rooted in one place for long. His parents' divorce before he was a year old set the tone for a life of transition. Although he only briefly met his biological father at the age of five, they wouldn't reconnect until Trevor was in his late teens.

As a child, Trevor's mother moved them frequently, settling in Cherokee, North Carolina on the Cherokee Indian Reservation when he was nine. Life on the reservation was challenging, but he formed lifelong friendships with the people he met there.

At 16, Trevor left the reservation on his own, embarking on a journey that would take him to five different states and five high schools. He eventually settled in Ohio, where he lived with relatives, but even that was short-lived. During his senior year, Trevor found himself homeless, couch surfing, and sleeping in his car. His best friend, Austin Russell, took him in, and the Russells provided a temporary sense of stability.

Trevor's difficult childhood served him well in his training at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in California. He easily made friends and developed a thick skin, traits that would serve him well in the competitive entertainment industry.

After graduation, Trevor landed roles on TV, including national commercials, Comedy Central's Mind of Mencia, and FX's hit show Justified. He also starred in the first-ever Internet film, Vlog, and worked alongside Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts on Larry Crowne.

When not working on TV or film projects, Trevor focused on his sketch comedy show, which went on to be voted the best theater show in L.A. in 2012. That same year, he entered the world of stand-up comedy, began writing, producing, and directing films and music videos under his own company, Big Fish Entertainment.

Trevor's latest project, the feature-length documentary The Last Cherokee Language Symposium, sheds light on the efforts to save and perpetuate the Cherokee Language for future generations.
