Tracy Ryan was born in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada in the year 1971, marking the beginning of a remarkable journey that would take her to the world of theatre, film, and television. Her academic pursuits led her to the University of Toronto, where she graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Drama and Irish Studies, a combined major that would serve as a solid foundation for her future endeavors.
As a multifaceted actor, Tracy made her mark in various mediums, including theatre, film, and television. Her first major break in television came with a regular spot on the soap opera "Family Passions," where she played the role of Calla, a blind girl, in a rigorous schedule of 130 episodes. In her own words, "It felt like the boot camp of acting."
A graduate of the University of Toronto's drama program, Tracy has been a regular presence on the Toronto theatre scene, appearing in productions such as Cafe Naked, Controlling Interest, Amazon Dream, Born in the Grave, and Coyote Ugly. Her impressive resume also includes film and television credits, including the lead role of Nancy Drew in 13 episodes of Nelvana's "Nancy Drew" (1995),two episodes of "The Hardy Boys" (1995),"Dark Angel" (2000),"Twice in a Lifetime" (1999),in which she shared the screen with Wil Wheaton, Al Waxman, and Paul Popowich, and the films "Stealing Harvard" (2002) and "Comeback Season" (2006).
Tracy's impressive repertoire also includes a leading role in the Canadian Film Centre's feature Kiss, directed by Laurie Colbert. Furthermore, she has lent her voice to several cartoon characters, including Ned's girlfriend Linda in Nelvana's Ned's Newt and 14-year-old diva Ruby in Flying Rhino Junior High.
In recent years, Tracy has applied for a green card, citing the numerous opportunities available in the United States. However, she assures that Toronto will always remain her home.
