Tony was born in Liverpool and began his career in television, appearing in the BBC's "Journey in the Life of John Lennon" and Channel 4's "Brookside". He then landed the leading role of Michael, a rent-boy, in "The Fruit Machine", the follow-up to writer Frank Clarke's international hit "Letter to Brezhnev".
Tony's film credits include "Hard Days Hard Nights", a story loosely based on The Beatles' trip to Hamburg before they became famous, "The Tall Guy", and the acclaimed "Edward II". He has also made guest appearances on ITV's drama series "Heartbeat" and played opposite Selina Cadell in "Screenplay" on BBC 2 in 1992.
In addition to his television and film work, Tony has had a successful stage career. He has performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company, appeared at the Royal National Theatre, and toured to Japan and Malaysia with the Oxford Stage Company.
