Tishuan Scott was born on October 27, 1979, in Shreveport, Louisiana, in the Copper Road neighborhood, where his early life and upbringing seemed to have limited possibilities for pursuing a career in acting. However, the influence of three dedicated high school teachers, Carol Hicks, Judy Polhemus, and Ruth Rath, would significantly alter the trajectory of his ambitions.
During his time at Captain Shreve High School, Tishuan began to nurture his passion for acting, and his hard work eventually paid off when he won the Louisiana High School State Championship in Dramatic Interpretation. This achievement instilled in him the confidence and conviction that acting was a viable career path.
Tishuan's academic pursuits took him to Morehouse College, where he was an Oprah Winfrey Scholar and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Drama and Psychology in 2002. He then furthered his education at the University of California - Los Angeles School of Theater, Film & Television (UCLA-TFT),as a Lloyd Bridges/MGM Outer Limits Fellow, graduating with a Master of Fine Arts in Acting in 2006.
Tishuan's screen performances have garnered recognition, including the 2013 SXSW Breakthrough Performance - Special Jury Recognition for Acting for his lead role in the indie feature film "The Retrieval." He has also appeared in Andrew Bujalski's films "Computer Chess" and "RESULTS," playing the roles of Keneiloe, a Ghanaian Guru, and Lorenzo, respectively.
Currently residing in Houston, Texas, for the past decade, Tishuan has redirected his focus towards personal projects centered on American and World History, with plans to adapt these stories for both the stage and screen. His company, Eye of the Peacock Enterprises, will serve as the hub for his artistic and academic endeavors.
