Timo Jacobs began his illustrious movie career in 2003 with a leading role in the film "3 Minuten Heroes", directed by the renowned German director Klaus Lemke. This marked the beginning of a successful collaboration between Jacobs and Lemke, resulting in a total of five movies featuring Jacobs as the leading actor, as well as numerous international and German TV and cinema productions.
In 2008, Jacobs took on the role of an actor in the film "The Man Who Will Come" (L'Uomo Che Verra),directed by Giorgio Dirittis, alongside actress Alba Rohrwacher. The film went on to win the Grand Prize of the Jury at the Rome International Film Festival in 2009. For his outstanding performance in the film "Beach Boy", Jacobs was awarded the New Berlin Film Award, while his leading role in "Pete the Heat!" earned him the Montblanc Movieprize at the Hamburg Film Festival in 2001.
In the war epic "Buffalo Soldiers" directed by Spike Lee, Jacobs played a Sniper in the German Wehrmacht, and in the hooligan drama "Gegengrade" he took on the leading role alongside Mario Adorf in 2011. The following year, he received the "Bambi" award in the category TV-Event of the Year for his participation in "Bornholmer Straße". For his appearance in "Tatort: Borowski und der Himmel über Kiel" directed by Christian Schwochow, Jacobs was nominated for the German Actor Award in 2016.
Since 2016, Jacobs has been part of the main cast of the popular German crime series "Der Kriminalist". He has also completed filming for various episodes in German shows, including "Wilsberg", "Bad Cop", and "Welser", in 2017.
In addition to his acting career, Jacobs is also a producer, director, writer, and leading actor in two movies. His first film, "Klappe Cowboy!", was released in 2011 and received several awards, including the audience award at the Achtung Berlin Film Festival, the prize of the Deposhir Film festival in St. Petersburg, Russia, and the prize of the jury at the International Film Festival in Louisville, KY.
Jacobs' second film, "Mann im Spagat - Pace, Cowboy, Pace", was released in German cinemas in 2017, with Jacobs serving as producer, director, writer, and leading actor.
