Biography

Thomas Raft, a multifaceted individual, was born in 1963 in Würzburg, Germany. His biological mother hailed from Germany, while his biological father, an American mulatto pilot, played a significant role in his early life. In November 1963, Thomas, along with his twin brother, was adopted by a family in Denmark.

Thomas's educational background is marked by a strong foundation in carpentry, which he pursued after completing his state school education. However, his passion for the performing arts soon took center stage. From 1983 to 1992, he honed his ballet skills at the renowned Henry Turner International Dance Center of Scandinavia. This training led to his professional debut in 1982, when he performed with the Alvin Ailey American Ballet at Denmark's Radio DR1 TV.

Thomas's ballet training continued in London, where he attended Pineapple Dance Studios, a modern ballet school, from 1988 to 1991. This marked the beginning of his transition from ballet to acting. In 1991, he launched his acting career, which has been marked by numerous notable roles.

As an actor, Thomas Raft has appeared in several critically acclaimed productions. One of his most notable roles was in the Emmy Award-winning TV series "Unit One" (2000). He has also starred in "Taxa" (1999),which won the Certificate of Merit at the San Francisco International Film Festival in 2000. Additionally, he has appeared in "Tulipan Nights" (1999),a competitive selection at the FIPA 2001 festival, and winner of the Silver prize at the International Film Festival Rotterdam in 2000. His role in "Necklace" (1999),a 16mm film, earned him a nomination for the Arte Avard Slovakia award.

Thomas Raft's upcoming projects include the feature film "Felo De Se," which is set to begin production in October 2015. As a writer and producer, he is currently working on his feature film script "The Family," which is based on his personal experiences. The project is scheduled for production in 2016 and boasts an impressive international team of talent. Thomas Raft is also working on two other scripts, "From Here to Heaven" and "Another World," both of which are currently in development.
