Thijs Römer, a talented actor and director, was born on July 26, 1978, in Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, the Netherlands. With a career spanning multiple mediums, he has made a name for himself in the entertainment industry.
Römer's early career began in theatre, where he appeared in productions such as "De Zeven Deugden - Doolhof en Orestes". He later co-founded a theatre group, Annette Speelt, with fellow students from the Amsterdamse Theaterschool, bringing plays like "De Perzen", "Lucifer", "Revuelutie", and "Othello" to the stage.
In 2002, Römer started his television career with roles in "Hartslag" and "Meiden van De Wit". He continued to work in television, appearing in "Grijpstra & De Gier" and "Theo van Gogh's Najib en Julia" in 2004, and "Medea" in 2005.
Römer's film career took off in the early 2000s with roles in "May 6th" (2004),"Gwen Stefani: Cool" (2005),and "Ter ziele" (2005). He won a Gouden Kalf award in 2005 for his role as a photo journalist in "May 6th". In 2013, he won the Rembrandt Award for his part in "Family Way" (2012).
