Terry Jernigan, affectionately known as TJ, was born in the vibrant city of Portsmouth, Virginia, where his passion for the performing arts would soon begin to unfold. Prior to embarking on his professional journey, TJ had the privilege of studying theatre at Shenandoah Conservatory, a renowned institution dedicated to fostering the next generation of artistic talent. He further honed his craft at Old Dominion University, where he was exposed to a wide range of theatrical styles and techniques.
As a multifaceted artist, TJ's creative endeavors extend far beyond the realm of traditional theatre. He has a deep-seated passion for improv, which has led him to collaborate with several esteemed organizations, including the Washington Improv Theatre Sports and Slap Happy. Moreover, TJ is a founding member of the innovative Comedy Bowl and Who's Turn is it Anyway, a testament to his commitment to pushing the boundaries of comedic expression.
In addition to his work in the improv scene, TJ has also founded The Boris Badinage Improvisational Troupe, a group dedicated to exploring the limitless possibilities of improvisational theatre. When he's not taking the stage, TJ is a dedicated instructor, teaching acting techniques and leading improv workshops to inspire and educate the next generation of performers.
Beyond his work in the performing arts, TJ is a creative force to be reckoned with. He is an avid writer, sculptor, cartoonist, and self-proclaimed binge-watcher of all things television.
