Biography

Taryn Gould is a renowned documentary filmmaker and editor based in Brooklyn, New York, with an impressive career spanning multiple years. Following her graduation from Syracuse University's prestigious Newhouse School, she embarked on a journey to document the creative processes of influential artists such as Lil Mama and The Roots, while also working with Atlantic Records.

Throughout her illustrious career, Gould's work has garnered significant recognition, including being shortlisted for an Academy Award and nominated for a Best Music Film Grammy, an Outstanding Documentary Emmy, and a Critics Choice Award. This documentary will utilize the vast Pennebaker/Hegedus archive, featuring some of the most iconic images of the 20th century, to explore Pennebaker's life, as well as the cultural, political, and technological developments in America over the past 70 years. This project is currently in development.
