Stuart is a multifaceted performer who has been actively involved in acting and occasional singing on stage and in film since his teenage years. He is equally adept at tackling serious drama, comedy, and farce, bringing an infectious enthusiasm and passion for the art to every project he undertakes.
His love for theatre was first ignited by his Edmonton high school drama teacher, the late Orest Kinasewich, a professional actor himself, who instilled in Stuart a deep appreciation for the craft. As Stuart's family moved around Canada, he followed his passion for theatre from city to city, eventually settling in Calgary in 2001.
Upon arriving in Calgary, Stuart discovered a theatre company that would become his artistic home for the next decade. For ten years, he served on the board of Calgary's oldest community theatre company, Workshop Theatre, including a four-year stint as President.
Throughout his career, Stuart has been dedicated to continually honing his craft. He has taken advanced acting classes with renowned instructors such as the late Dr. Mark Schoenberg, Chantal Perron, Joe Norman Shaw, and others.
Stuart's impressive repertoire includes numerous award-winning performances. He received the Best Supporting Actor Award for his portrayal of shock rocker Tommy Quick in Norm Foster's Bedtime Stories, and the Best Actor Award for his role as George in David Mamet's The Duck Variations.
Some of Stuart's most memorable roles include Richard Nixon in the stage play Frost/Nixon, Caldwell B Cladwell in Urinetown: The Musical, and Uncle in Fargo Season 5.
