Steve Peterson, a native of Los Angeles, had an unconventional childhood experience, with the opportunity to see movie stars being a rare occurrence until he ventured out of his home state. The monotony of high school was a distant memory, replaced by a newfound sense of purpose, inspired by the thought-provoking and critically acclaimed anti-war film, Apocalypse Now. This cinematic masterpiece sparked a desire within him to serve his country, and Steve Peterson made the bold decision to join the army.

His military career took him to various locations, including Fort Benning, Georgia, where he played a crucial role in the demilitarized zone in Korea, and the National Training Center in the Mojave desert.
