Soham Majumdar, a talented Indian actor, hails from the vibrant city of Kolkata, India. Born with a passion for acting, he was resolute in pursuing his dream as a profession. His journey as a theatre artist began in 2011, and he subsequently co-founded the theatre group M.A.D (Mad about Drama). Under this umbrella, he has been a part of over 50 proscenium plays and numerous audio plays for the esteemed Friends 91.9 Fm radio network.
Soham's impressive theatre background led him to collaborate with Disney and Bookmyshow on the production of the musical "Aladdin", where he essayed the role of Babkak. His transition to the silver screen began with the Bengali film Drishtikone (2018),directed by the renowned Kaushik Ganguly. This marked the beginning of his film career, which gained momentum with his role in Kabir Singh (2019).
Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Kabir Singh is a drama film and a remake of the original Telugu film Arjun Reddy, starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani. Soham played the pivotal role of Shiva, Kabir Singh's best friend and backbone. The film's massive success at the box office, grossing over 200 crore in India, solidified Soham's position as a talented young actor.
His outstanding performance in Kabir Singh earned him several accolades, including the Zee Cine Awards for Best Supporting Actor in 2020. Soham's notable works also include "Brahma Jaanen Gopon Kommoti", for which he received an award for being the Most Promising Talent for his portrayal of Bikramaditya in the film.
Soham's passion for acting stems from his strong belief that "we are all poor players who strut and fret our hour upon the stage and are heard no more." He aspires to be a part of stories that inspire and touch people's lives. Interestingly, Soham holds a secret talent – he is also an engineer, though he is not too proud to admit it.
