Biography

Agnes Zetterstrand, later known as Marie Prevost, was born in 1902 in Naugatuck, Connecticut, to Swedish immigrant parents. As the youngest of seven surviving children, her life was marked by turmoil when her father suddenly passed away in 1911. The family relocated to Waterbury, Connecticut, where Prevost attended Wilby High School and graduated in 1919. She began her acting career with Sylvester Poli's Stock Theater Company, The Poli Players, making her stage debut in August 1920 in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
