The People's Enemy background

The People's Enemy

A wealthy gangster forsakes his pursuit of wealth to pursue respectability, marrying a high-society woman in a pragmatic partnership lacking genuine romantic feelings.

Gangster Vince M. Falcone's ultimate goal was to amass a fortune, and he achieved this through a mix of legitimate and illicit means. However, once wealthy, he yearned for respectability. To achieve this, he married a high-society woman, gaining a young daughter in the process, which allowed him to flaunt his status among the elite. Despite this, when times got tough, he abandoned his wife and daughter. Fortunately, a lawyer named "Traps" who worked for the underworld stepped in to support them.
