Shawn, a native of Metro Detroit, earned a degree in pre-veterinary medicine from Michigan State University, only to have his academic trajectory altered by an insidious and captivating "film bug" that took hold of him. The allure of the silver screen proved too great to resist, and he subsequently relocated to Los Angeles in early 2004 to pursue a career in filmmaking.
Since then, Shawn has traversed the globe, honing his skills as a Director of Photography across a diverse range of projects, including narrative films, documentaries, television productions, and commercials. His impressive resume boasts collaborations with an esteemed array of talent, including Greta Gerwig, Martin Sheen, Snuffy Walden, Iggy Pop, Alan Rickman, Danny Glover, Joe Mantegna, Bobby Cannavale, and Fred Savage, among many others.
Throughout his illustrious career, Shawn's projects have garnered widespread critical acclaim, with his most recent feature-length documentary, "Up to Snuff," generating significant buzz throughout the film festival circuit.
